Potty Training Products I Love

Updated: Jul 25, 2018

As a potty training consultant working with many different families with children of all ages and abilities, I am always on the lookout for products to make the potty training process easier and more fun. I wanted to share with you what I feel are the best potty training products on the market right now. Get one, or get them all for the ultimate potty training experience!

1. Peelaways Sheets

www.peelawaylabs.com

These layered disposable sheets make nighttime potty training a breeze! I certainly wish I had known about them when I was potty training my kids! Featured on the TV show Shark Tank, Peel Aways are multi-layered peel away disposable sheets that are 100% waterproof. So when the top layer is soiled, simply peel it away for an instantly clean sheet underneath. Sure beats changing a full set of bed clothes at 3:00 am! Not only are these sheets super convenient, but they are super soft and don’t have that loud crinkly sound of typical waterproof solutions. So your little one will sleep more soundly and you will too! They come in a variety of sizes to fit crib through king and start at only $15.99 a pack (each has 5 layers). Just for blog readers: Use code "PottyT" at checkout for 10% off your entire purchase!

2. Bebon Potty Trainer

The Potty Trainer is an adorable wrist timer that helps to remind your child when it is time to go potty! Set the timer for 30, 60, or 90 minutes and you and your little one can go on about your business until you hear the melody, then your child knows it’s time to get to the potty! I love this because it helps build independence and gives your child a higher level of control over potty training. Plus you aren’t constantly prompting them to go! It is super easy to set up and use and is made of a comfortable silicone that can be worn on the wrist or ankle. Another bonus is that it is charged withaUSB to your computer, so no batteries!

3. The Potty Fairy Book

The Potty Fairy is a brand new potty training book that brings a fun new approach to learning how to use the potty. It features the Potty Fairy and her helpers, Bud and Blossom, who visit children during their potty training process bringing rewards and encouragement. I love that this book is a different concept than what we've seen in potty training books in the past and will really speak to your child's imagination.

4. Summer Lil Loo Potty

One of the questions I get asked the most is, “What is the best kind of potty chair to use?” With so many out there to choose from, it can be a daunting task to pick the right one. But the Summer Lil Loo is my absolute favorite. Starting at only $10 (yes, $10!), it is one of the cheapest on the market, but I love it because it is simple in appearance, easy to clean, and compact enough to take with you wherever you go. I recommend getting it in white, which most resembles a regular toilet to make the transition from potty to toilet easier when the time is right. It is the perfect size for potty trainees up to 4-years old and has an ample, built-in pee-guard for little boys.

5. Kandoo Flushable Wipes

Being a mom of two toddlers, I have tried almost every flushable wipe on the market. The Kandoo Kids wipes are by far the best out there. They smell great, are the perfect size for little hands, and clean up to 30% better than toilet paper. Buy the wipe dispenser one time which ensures your little one can only take out one wipe at a time, and it even comes with fun stickers for your child to use to decorate it. My daughter has sensitive skin and she has never had an issue with the lotions or fragrance in these wipes.

6. My Potty Party Books

My Potty Party makes customized books with your child’s photographs and personal information. Let’s face it, toddlers love looking at themselves, so what better way to get them envisioning using the potty than to see it in a book! These books are amazing tools for all children, but those with special needs could especially benefit. Visualization is one of the best learning tools for children of all abilities. Order your book before you start the training process to ease them into the idea of using the potty!

7. Potty Pictures

www.pottypictures.org

Potty Pictures are another great FUN tool for potty training. Each heart contains a secret picture that magically appears when the heart gets wet! Before your child goes potty, ask them what they think the picture is, have them put the heart in their training potty, and then they get to see if they were right when they go potty! Each pack contains 30 hearts with different pictures on each. I love these because they act as a reward for using the potty without having to be something tangible or edible, like toys or candy. We’ve also been using these as a target to help our son learn how to stand to pee in the toilet and he loves them!

8. Kudo Banz

www.kudobanz.com

Kudo Banz are amazing because they take the concept of a sticker chart and put it right on your child’s wrist! It is a wristband with super cute collectible charms that your child can earn each time they use the potty correctly. The charms can even come to life using the Kudo Banz mobile app which is really cool especially for older children. The Kudo Banz potty training kit comes with a book, two wristbands with charms, and a super cute storage bag.

With some or all of these tools in your back pocket, your child is sure to be excited about potty training!
